Teachers
are willing to give medication to a child during school time only if:
- the
medication is absolutely necessary and parents are unable to come to the
school and administer it
- parent/legal
guardian completes a medical consent form
- a medical
practitioner prescribes the medication - non-prescribed medication such
as Panadol will not be administered
- a pharmacist
at a medical practitioner's directions, writes the instructions on the medication
container.
