Homework is set on a regular basis to all year levels. We feel that in the primary years, it is worthwhile to develop good home study habits by establishing a routine where the student is required to set aside a period at home to quietly apply themselves to some learning task for an appropriate time. [Homework will not introduce new or unfamiliar concepts but will provide additional learning time to practice and reinforce work covered during the school day.]
All children should do some reading every night and in the lower grades reading will form a major part of homework tasks. The speedy and accurate recall of number facts required by students can be achieved with regular home
from completing a set homework task, it might be appropriate to do it before school. Students failing to complete homework will be required to do the work during play-time or after school.

The recommended daily time for homework (including reading) for each year level is:
Year 1 - 3 - 15 minutes; Year 4 / 5 - 20 minutes; Year 6 / 7 - 30 minutes Homework contracts are a more regular method of providing homework. The contracts are given out early in the week to be completed by a set day. The child has the option to do homework at a planned time, not necessarily every night.
Parents are urged to help establish the homework routine and take an interest in their child's homework activities. If your child is experiencing difficulties, please let your child's teacher know. Should circumstances prevent a student
